Selective mutism
चयनात्मक मूकता
An anxiety condition in which a child who speaks freely in some places, usually at home, consistently cannot speak in others, such as school. It is not shyness or defiance. A child psychologist or psychiatrist diagnoses and treats it, and the adults around the child help most by taking away the pressure to talk.
