In short
Special Minds provides play-based ABA therapy for toddlers and young children. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assesses your child's skills, writes goals with you for the things that matter at this age, such as asking for what they want, playing, sharing attention, waiting and early self-care, and supervises the trained therapist who works with your child through play, at home or online. Parents are coached throughout, because early learning happens all day, not only in sessions.
Families of children under six with an autism diagnosis, a suspected diagnosis, or a developmental or speech delay, often recommended early intervention by a developmental paediatrician. You do not need to wait for a final diagnosis to ask; we will say plainly whether ABA is the right place to start or whether another professional should see your child first.

Questions
Questions
Is my child too young for ABA?+
Many programmes start between two and five, and early support is often recommended. For very young children, good ABA looks like play and leans heavily on parent coaching. Your developmental paediatrician can advise alongside our BCBA.
Do we need a diagnosis first?+
No. Many families come before a diagnosis. We will tell you plainly whether ABA makes sense now, and recommend a developmental paediatrician or psychologist if your child should be assessed first.
Will ABA stop my child from stimming?+
Harmless stimming is not a target in a good programme; it often helps children regulate. Goals focus on communication, play, daily skills and safety.
Will my child still have time to play?+
Sessions for toddlers should be play. The BCBA plans hours around naps, meals and family time, and tells you honestly if a busier week would not help.
