In short
Special Minds introduces vetted remedial tutors to families in Amritsar. A remedial tutor uses structured, multi-sensory methods to close the gaps in reading, writing or maths that ordinary tuition keeps working around. Sessions run at home or online, whichever suits your child. Every candidate's qualifications are confirmed with the issuing institution, identity and work history checked, and at least two references spoken to, and every placement is reviewed at one week, thirty days and ninety days.
Families in Ranjit Avenue, Lawrence Road, Green Avenue, Basant Avenue and Majitha Road, and across Punjab, whose child is behind in reading, writing or maths, with or without a formal assessment. We work with Amritsar's CBSE schools, its Punjab School Education Board schools in Punjabi and English medium, and a smaller number of ICSE schools, and we match the tutor to your child's board, age and difficulty.

Questions
Questions
Does my child need a dyslexia assessment first?+
No. Tutoring can start from what you and the school have noticed. An assessment by a psychologist does help: it shapes the plan, and it is usually needed for exam arrangements.
At home or online in Amritsar?+
Both work. Younger children and children who find screens hard usually do better at home; older students often do well online with a tutor who knows how to run a structured session on a screen. We cover Ranjit Avenue, Lawrence Road, Green Avenue, Basant Avenue, Majitha Road, Mall Road, and the neighbourhoods around them.
Do you help with board exam arrangements?+
Yes, we help you prepare what the school needs to apply. CBSE, CISCE, the Punjab state board, NIOS and the international boards each set their own rules for exam arrangements such as extra time, a reader or a scribe. At the time of writing, October 2026, each board publishes its own forms and dates every year; confirm the current rules with the school.
Will the tutor speak our home language?+
English always, and Hindi or Punjabi where the candidate pool allows. Tell us on the brief which language your child is most at ease in.
How soon can tutoring start in Amritsar?+
Online tutoring can usually start within two to three weeks. For a tutor at home, we tell you plainly how long it is likely to take to find the right person near you.
