In short
Special Minds introduces vetted special educators and remedial teachers for children whom a school has called a slow learner. The label is common in Indian schools, but it is not a diagnosis, and it can hide a learning disability, attention difficulties, an unnoticed hearing or vision problem, or gaps in the basics. The professional starts from what your child can already do, teaches the missing steps in order, and helps you arrange a proper assessment where one is needed. Candidates are verified and interviewed twice, and placements are reviewed at one week, thirty and ninety days.
Families whose child in class 2 to 9, at a CBSE, ICSE or state board school, has been called weak, slow or careless at parent-teacher meetings, has had tuition that did not help, and is starting to dislike school. Often the school has raised repeating a year, or the child has quietly stopped trying.

Questions
Questions
What is the difference between a slow learner and a learning disability?+
A learning disability is identified by a clinical psychologist and is a specified disability under the RPwD Act. Slow learner is an informal school label with no fixed meaning. A child given that label may have a learning disability or something else entirely, which is why an assessment matters.
Should my child repeat a year?+
Talk it through with the school and your paediatrician, but know that Indian paediatric guidance says holding a child back does not, on its own, improve academic performance. Finding out why the child is struggling, and teaching to it, usually matters more.
Is ordinary tuition enough for a slow learner?+
Tuition usually repeats the syllabus at the class's pace. If your child has gaps lower down, a special educator or remedial teacher goes back and fills them first, one step at a time, which is why it can succeed where more tuition has not.
Should we get my child's hearing and vision checked?+
Yes, it is a sensible early step. Indian paediatric guidance treats hearing and vision checks as a mandatory part of assessing a child for a learning disability. Your paediatrician can arrange them.
