A family home in Pune

Shadow teachers and special educators in Aundh.

Support for Aundh families with shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors, introduced after verification and coordinated with the school.

Aundh, Pune

Aundh is one of Pune's more settled western suburbs, near the university and bordering Baner and Sangvi, with a mix of older housing colonies, bungalows and apartment buildings. Many families have been here for a generation, while others moved in for the IT parks further west. Grandparents are often part of daily life, which shapes how a home programme is run. We introduce shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors to Aundh families, check qualifications with the issuing institution, speak to references, and write a child-support profile with the family, including the grandparents where they are involved.

Aundh has long-established CBSE, ICSE and state board schools, with IB and Cambridge schools a short drive away in Baner and Balewadi. Some families keep a child in a Marathi-medium or English-medium state board school they know well rather than moving. At the time of writing (September 2026), the Maharashtra board's 2018 Government Resolution covers learning disability and autism and names ADHD, with concessions such as 20 minutes per hour extra and, for learning disability, a calculator in Std 10 and 12 for certain subjects. Confirm current rules with the school.

The commute and the languages.

Aundh's main roads, including ITI Road, DP Road and the stretch towards Parihar Chowk, are busy at school time, and the approaches to University Chowk can be slow. Most practitioners travel by two-wheeler or auto. Because Aundh sits between the older city and the western IT belt, it draws candidates from both sides: Shivajinagar, Pashan, Sangvi and Pimple Saudagar are all within reach. That makes a full-year placement easier to staff here than on the city's edges, and a combined school-and-home role more practical.

Marathi is spoken at home by many Aundh families, alongside Hindi and English, and newer residents bring Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam or Bengali. Where grandparents speak mainly Marathi, a special educator who understands Marathi can talk to them directly about routines. Put that in the brief; Marathi is often available in Pune's candidate pool.

How a placement works

Questions from Aundh families

Our child is in a Marathi-medium school in Aundh. Can we find a shadow teacher who speaks Marathi?+

Often, yes. Pune has many practitioners who work in Marathi as well as English. We shortlist candidates who can follow classroom instructions in Marathi where the pool allows, and we say plainly if a shortlisted person is less comfortable in it.

Can grandparents in Aundh be part of the home programme?+

Yes. The child-support profile is written with the family, and grandparents who spend time with the child can be included. A special educator can show them simple ways to follow the same routines, so the child meets the same approach from different adults through the day.

Is Aundh within reach for practitioners from Pimpri Chinchwad?+

Usually, yes. Sangvi, Pimple Saudagar and Pimple Gurav are close to Aundh, and many practitioners live there. The river crossing between Sangvi and Aundh slows down at peak times, so we ask candidates about their daily route before shortlisting them.
