Shadow teachers and special educators in Whitefield.

Shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors for families in Whitefield, east Bengaluru, arranged around the tech parks and the schools nearby.

Whitefield, Bengaluru

Whitefield grew around east Bengaluru's technology parks, and most families here live in gated apartment communities or villa projects, with both parents often working in technology. Many moved from other states, and some returned from years abroad. They tend to ask for a qualified person, a written plan and a report they can read on the way to work. Special Minds introduces vetted shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors to families here, contacts the school before a shadow teacher is placed, and sends daily notes and a monthly written report to both parents.

Families in Whitefield use a wide mix of IB, Cambridge, CBSE and ICSE schools, with some on the Karnataka state syllabus. International schools here usually have learning support staff, and a shadow teacher needs to fit that team's plan. At the time of writing, September 2026, Cambridge asks the school to apply for exam access arrangements each series with evidence dated within four years, and the IB asks for a report within three years plus evidence from school. A disability certificate alone does not meet either. Confirm with the school's coordinator.

The commute and the languages.

The Purple Line metro now reaches Whitefield, which helps professionals living along it in east and central Bengaluru. By road, the stretches around Marathahalli, Varthur Road and Whitefield Main Road can be slow at peak hours, and heavy rain makes some roads much worse. A shadow teacher who must reach school before the bell every day for a year is far more likely to last if they live in the east of the city. Where the school is inside the same community or close by, one person can often cover school and home.

Kannada is the local language, but Whitefield homes often use English with Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali or Marathi, depending on where the family comes from. Children usually learn Kannada at school as well. The brief records the languages used at home and with grandparents, and we look for Kannada where the candidate pool allows.

Questions from Whitefield families

Can a shadow teacher from central Bengaluru travel to a school in Whitefield?+

Sometimes. The Purple Line makes it easier for someone living near a station, but the last stretch to the school and the road traffic at peak hours still matter. For a full-year role we usually prefer a candidate living in east Bengaluru.

Do Whitefield international schools accept a shadow teacher from outside?+

Many do, alongside their own learning support staff, but policies differ. We contact the school before placing anyone, agree how the shadow teacher will work with the class teacher and the support team, and place them only with the school's agreement.

Can a special educator come to our gated community after school?+

Yes. We arrange entry with the community's security in advance, and the brief sets the session times around the school bus and the child's rest. Daily notes follow each session so both parents know what was worked on.
