Special needs support in Uttar Pradesh.
Shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors for families in Noida and Ghaziabad, with online remedial tutoring across Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh
Our Uttar Pradesh families live in Noida and Ghaziabad, on Delhi's eastern side of the Yamuna. Noida, with Greater Noida beyond it, has grown into a place of large housing societies and newer schools, and a family there may have moved from anywhere in India. Ghaziabad has older neighbourhoods as well as newer ones along the roads into Delhi. Many parents cross into Delhi each day for work or therapy, so a professional who lives on the same side of the river can make the week far easier. Special Minds introduces vetted shadow teachers, special educators and remedial tutors to families in Noida and Ghaziabad, and offers online remedial tutoring to families elsewhere in the state.
In person in Delhi NCR. Families in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra, Prayagraj, Meerut and elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh can use online remedial tutoring.

Schools and boards.
The state's own board, the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, runs the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) exams. The Noida and Ghaziabad schools our families use are mostly affiliated to CBSE, with some ICSE schools and a few offering IB or Cambridge. At the time of writing (September 2026), CBSE's concessions for learning disability and autism include a scribe or reader, 20 minutes extra per hour, exemption from the third language and one compulsory language in place of two. ICSE also gives 20 minutes per hour, and a second-language exemption at Class 10 on a valid certificate. The UP board publishes its own rules; confirm them with the school.
Hindi is the state language, and Urdu is widely used. In Noida and Ghaziabad classrooms, English and Hindi carry most lessons, while homes in the newer housing societies may speak Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi or Telugu. For a child with dyslexia, reading Hindi in Devanagari and English in the Roman script are different tasks, and progress in one does not guarantee progress in the other. Ask the school early how a language exemption would work.

Public support and paperwork.
A family in Noida or Ghaziabad applies for a disability certificate and UDID card on swavlambancard.gov.in, to the medical authority for its district (Gautam Buddh Nagar for Noida) or to a hospital already treating the child, even one in Delhi. If the application is rejected, the reasons must be given, and an appeal can be made within 90 days. A child under 5 with delays across several areas is certified with global developmental delay, on a temporary certificate. The State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities for Uttar Pradesh can inquire into complaints. Samagra Shiksha supports children in government, aided and local-body schools, and District Early Intervention Centres at district hospitals accept parent referrals for young children. This is the position at the time of writing (September 2026); confirm it before you apply.

Questions from families in Uttar Pradesh
Can a shadow teacher from East Delhi work at a school in Noida?+
Yes, if the school agrees. East Delhi and Noida sit on the same side of the Yamuna, which usually makes the daily route easier than a crossing from South Delhi at peak hours. We match on route as well as skills, and we speak to the school before anyone is placed.
Which district do we apply in for a UDID card if we live in Noida?+
Noida is in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, so you can apply on swavlambancard.gov.in to the medical authority notified for that district. You may instead choose a hospital where your child is already being treated, including one in another district or state.
Our child studies in Hindi. Can the remedial tutor teach in Hindi?+
Often, yes. Every tutor we introduce works in English, and many also teach in Hindi, depending on who is available. Tell us your child's board and medium on the brief, and we look for a tutor who reads and writes the language your child is assessed in.
We live in Lucknow. Is there support for a child with dyslexia?+
Online remedial tutoring, yes. A vetted tutor works with your child to a written plan, with notes after sessions and a monthly report. For an assessment, start with a clinical or child psychologist or a developmental paediatrician. Shadow teachers and home special educators are introduced in person in Noida and Ghaziabad, and in Lucknow on request, where we can find and verify the right professional nearby; see our Lucknow page.
